I have polyurethaned a few wooden cages without any problems. But this time when I went to home depot to pick up some, it has a sticker on the front with a Lead advisory that was not on any before. Just wandering if anyone has had a problem with sealing wooden cages with polyurethane, affecting the reptiles? Thanks, jason
I think that if you read the advisory you'll find that its about sanding old paints that may contain leads. the new paints are all lead free.

Exactly!! I came across the same thing recently..
I wonder if paint companies realize they're shooting themselves in the foot but trying to offer consumers health tips on old paint removal...
They probably assume people will actually read the entire warning, which is evidentally a mistake.
People see the words "warning" and "lead" and put it back on the shelf.
Like Piers said... there is NO LEAD in any modern day consumer finishes. Even obscure lead threats like venetian blinds and gumball prizes have been pulled from the market due to trace lead content.
It's funny though, they still think it's Ok to fill our teeth with mercury.

Ok, thanks to both of you. lol, stockwell, i did put it back on the shelf. Searched for the "old" stuff i used, found it, and it had the label. So i figured what the hell. thanks, again, jason
