What do you do when your reptile hatches, what things do you looks for and what do you do with the reptile.
And what do you do when you find them, jump, cheer ect.?
Depends on what it is. If a gecko, I leave in the incubator, if a snake, I put it in a deli container with moist peat moss and leave it alone til it sheds.
I also watch to see if there's any funny movement. Head tilt, weird scales, clear vent, good eyes, no deformities.
When I find a hatchling I usually clap and have a big smile on my face.

Sex it, create a record sheet, label it and house it in it's own container on moist paper towels. And smile, of course. :)

When i know one is hatching or about to hatch, I freak out, i really do. It's hillarious i'm like a little kid that has never had candy and they just gave me a factory full of it.
Like Katt said if it's a snake it immediatly gets taken out placed in a deli cup, labled and left alone until the first shed.
Beardies get removed immediatly after all the yoke sack was absorbed and placed it there enclosure.
Leos i like to leave in for 12-24 hours after they hatch, then they get placed in their new home and misted just for the delight i get when they bark or squeel at me. LOL na just joking i do that because i have to but they act like i'm torturing them.
That's all the herps i've hatched out, it would depend on what speices are hatching as to what you should do.

LOL!!
Well I deal with snakes only
so yeah put them in their indivdual containers, water, and heck I even try to put in a f/t pinky a day or two after they hatch to see if they eat it. Some do some don't, if they do YEAH! If not, oh well I'll feed the other established ones or just a tiny snack for my adults.
A big smile and I get really excited when seeing those tiny little animals that were 'created' by my animals. Feels like that I am being a grandfather year after year~~

Definitely grinning from ear to ear - I love hatching baby snakes!! I really try to really leave them alone other than checking twice a day in the final week of incubation and once they start to hatch. I have been guilty of taking a picture or two when they are hatching, but I try and limit myself on that.
I actually usually don't remove any babies til the whole clutch is hatched - hate to disturb the remaining eggs and figure everyone is fine in the incubator anyway. When all are out of eggs (or more than 10 - makes it worth pulling them out) with corns, I sex them, put males in one tub, females in another, with damp paper towel. Hondos go 2-3 snakes per tub because the hatchlings are so big.
I leave hatchling tubs in the incubator for another day or so - it is nice, warm and humid there. Then the tubs go out to the nursery tank area where they are at constant temp and the humidity can be kept up so paper towels stay dampish to help with sheds. These tubs are checked daily - when individuals shed they are removed to their own tub on dry papertowel, popped again to confirm sex and given their ID label. This is when I actually handle them to check for kinks or any other problems and cull any that have to be (very obvious problems are culled at hatch). They are offered their first mouse a day or two later.
I photograph everyone within the first week or so after their first feeding to evaluate pattern and color and start ranking them. I try to photograph all the hatchlings every couple months to monitor changes and help make final decisions on who stays and who goes, along with considering their freeding responses.
Hatching time really is the most wonderful time of the year!! Can hardly wait!

It was a skunk gecko that hatched out, all I did for the egg was seperate it from the parents. I got a small container and placed her in there, and put her back in the parents cage, in the small container.
I just yell from my reptile room that gecko hatched..I was so happy to find her, expecially b/c a week before this one hatched her mother died :(
Hatching time is where it's at! The rest of the year is cool too, but it's just too wild to watch something finally hatch out. And now that I've got a room full of hets & homo-hets, the surprises will be coming left and right -- can't wait!
I'm with Mary. They all stay in the incubating tub until I am sure they have all hatched. I figure it's warm and humid in there, and I'd hate to disturb any eggs that really don't need to be disturbed. After 24hrs or so I'll take everyone out and slit any that haven't hatched on their own and go from there.

When I hatched a painted turtle last year, by complete fluke and I had no idea what I was doing :p, I was running around the house yelling and telling my whole family lol. I was so proud and excited :D
I can’t wait to start breeding ball pythons, I really can’t!! I don’t care to make money, which I won’t at all anyway, its just for the excitement really.
