LOL.........do you use this way to much?

Hi everyone:

I was chatting with some friends on MSN messenger in the last few days and then this popped up in my head. The short version of "laughing out loud" - "lol", gets used alot for alot of reasons half of which are not even about anything funny.

With all the net media systems like forums, chat rooms, chat interfaces and so on, how often is "lol" being used each minute, hour, day, month, and year.....this little acronym has to be the most popular little word used on the net.

I think I used it 100 times a month if not more.

LOL... seems to me to be not as rude as HA...and GiG(giggle) seems a little too feminine even though people in,"real talking" giggle more than LOL

lol, I use it for everything I cant help it its a very bad habbit

i usually add it into a post when i think someone will think im being ingnorant or rude... just to show sarcasim or something... unless i really am laughing

Yes, I'm always noticing this.
On MSN I talk to people that are on webcam, and they say 'lol' and they don't even have a smile on their face.

Ha a couple of times, hence the reason I've started using Ha, plus I've been reading alot of comic books, and they don't say lol they use haha or hehe so that's growing on me instead. Not the hehe though I can't imagine myself acctually using that.

I usually use 'lol' when I find something a bit funny.. or when there is an odd silence... or when I just don't know what to say. XD.. I have problems abusing the 'XD' face. (X being the eyes and D being the mouth)

Anyway, I also like to use "bwhaha" and "hehe"...
