View Full Version : Weight issues?
Hi!
I'm wondering if anyone knows how to tell if a chameleon is underweight? What are the signs to look for?
Thanks!

The easiest way is to invest in a gram scale. Weekly weighings are the best way to determine seasonal weight lose and health issues before they get serious.
A good visual indicator is the lack of roundness to the tail. A chameleon with good weight will have a tail that is evenly round on the underside of the tail.

Thanks, I was just noticing that I could see a slight indentation running along his side just below the spine and I was worried that it might be a weight problem. It's probably normal, but thought I'd check. His tail is full and round and he's got a pretty big bulge going on there too!.
Thanks,
Thrush
ya that would be his dong lol
