thats what i thought...... ok well good luck and i hope i helped
I would sudjest doing a little mroe reaserch before you buy your chameleons. Would hate to see someone not only unintentionaly kill a helpless animal and waste a lot of theyre time and money just because they were in to much of a hurry to do the proper research.
good luck

they get very big i would say that cage your built would be ok for a juvie or possible a female but they would definatly do much better with a big cage id say a 4w x 6h x 2-4d thats just what i would do though if size isent a issue bigger the better.
Since you are in a good climate for this species why not build a screen house type set-up. If you built something like 20'long x 12'high x 8'deep you could probably house 1.1 very comfortably. Plant the enclosure with thick branched tree's and set-up a mist system.
Feeding shouldn't be an issue if you do feild sweepings and just release everything into the set-up. Occasionally let some very small finch's loose. Grasshoppers, locusts, and crickets could be hand fed every few days just to make sure everything is eatting.

that would be good but my mom will never let me.
and since i am planning on getting some othere species. i will not have the space to make that type of cage
Your best bet would be to skip the species if you can't provide optimum conditions.
Carl
THATS HARSH THAT WOULD BE ONE AWSOME SETUP.
darn caps lol
I wish winnipeg had better weather, but i am still thinking about building out door cages for the summer. It gets pretty hot here on the praries. But then extremely cold in the winter :(.
I have the perfect sopt in my back yard that gets sun all day.
Was planning to just build a cage around an existing tree in my back yard. Ill have to obviously check to see if its safe or not first.
Mybe you could try something like that alejandro. PUt tall 7' spikes into the gound, and burry a peice of wood going about a foot down around the perimeter to keep out wild animals. And wrap the spikes with galvanized messing, or some other rust proof material. OF course you will need to add some supports for structure but i think it should end up being a really nice set up.
Put a lock on the bugger so no one steals this one.
good luck

what othere cham live in that area? or need a hot wheather?
the thing is that i dont want to get a veiled again. and the panther is super dificult to find here. and they cost too much.
are there any chameleons native to your area? If so those would be nothing but perfect.
There are lot of species from madagascar that like warm climates, cant name any off the top of my head.
