Im thinking of switching over to rubbermade because this 55gallon tank isnt holing the moister I need. I got the tank for 10 bucks at a show and thats why Im using it. It's a real nice setup and If I keep it Im wondering if moisterhide boxes like you would use for a rainbow would work? right now I have her in a tubaware box with damp warm shirts because of a HORRIBLE shed she is having. I mist twice daily and my only conlusion is the sheet I put over the tank isnt holdng the moister in long enough. Or for some dark reason I also suspect that her bad shed is due to her lack of growth and not feeding well. Her head looks like a shrivled rasian :( as did the rest of her body till I did what Im doing now and she got the most of her body un sheithed. Her tail and head are all
thats left to shed. and when I checked her head was coming along and at worse I can assest her alil on the tail section.

So back to the orginal question, 55gl tank ok to use IF I cut a plastic iece to fit over it or is a large rubbermade the ideal inclosure for a young retic?

Good deal, baby got just about all old skin off but still working on an eye cap/side of face strip.

I think with a box left in there similer to what I have now would eb the best corse of action if I deside to stay in the 55gl tank for now. But a piece of plastic is still a must and would liek to ehar others opinions.

Oh, and as far as I know this is her second shed, and what a beautiful girl she is. the smothest coloration of tan and yellow with bold white and black. And she is only gong to get better with age.

I have this mouse next to me that I ahve been feeding bread and water for last 4 day's, hopefuly she will eat it later tonight/tomorrow morning and she has just been in a painful shed. :)

She was warry, seemed to not be interested in the mouse at all. she would flicker her tongue and back away as if she was repulsed by the mouse. Id let the mouse drop and she would watch it or turn her head, just not realy carying about this unknown creature in ehr mist. But I wouldn't give up, for I saw a moment of hope, she raised her head and flickered rapidly as if se actualy was interested in this smell ( keeping a mouse in tubawear for 4 days can get realy stinky). So I held it by it's tail and instead of pushing it towards her I held it on one spot and let ehr come to it. And she did, she pressed her nose against the mouse and bam, point blank range just nailed it and befor I ahd time to react she had 1/3 of her body wraped around the now helpless rodent. She is curently swallowing it. YAY.

If you ahve read my thread s about her
I think I have discovered that this retic is just a picky eater. period. Today Iv had time to check her up and down and besides a few ruff scales here and there she is in tip top shape. hopefully as she grows her feeding response will becoem greater.

this is the forth mouse she has ate from the time I got her in october to now.
