Ok. I often hear Sumatran being called black bloods. Yet most of the Sumatrans I've seen (considering sumatrans are the most common in the blood trade) have no black. They have great red colors and look like Malaysians. Don't you think that Black blood is a misleading name?
Blood pythons (Python brongersmai) and Sumatran short-tailed pythons (Python curtus) both come from Sumatra.
There is widespread misbelief that all red bloods (once again, Python brongersmai) come from Malaysia - the majority of bloods imported these days are of Sumatran origin.
The fact that Sumatran short-tails (Python curtus) are widely & erroneously called "black bloods" only serves to confuse the matter further...they're two distinctly different species.

So... Red = mostly sumatran and some Malaysian blood
Black = sumatran short tail

I wonder if there is a difference (size, color, etc.) between Malaysian and Sumatran Blood pythons (Python brongersmai) ?
