Hey.. back in september i got a cute little albino female burm. she's about 5' long or so. really active, inquisitive and friendly.

long story short.. she's not eating for me. she's in a 60 gallon tank for now. usual temps (90ish for hot spot, 80ish for cold spot). i've tried both live and f/t.

When I try the already dead feeders, she'll come out and be all interested in the prey, so i'll leave it in overnight and she'll ignore it. ive tried tease feeding as well. No reaction. With live, she'll activly hunt it down, constrict it and then leave it once it's dead.

even tried a live gerbil. same thing: hunt, constrict, then ignore.

any suggestions? she appears to be healthy and isn't loosing weight. only health issue i've known of was a few small mites when i got her.. but those were long cleared up with Nix.

cheers, and many thanks
Justin

try feeding frozen thawed and hold the head up to a light bulb for a few seconds.

Did you check her mouth for any injury or mouth rot, sometimes if they have a sore in there it gets to sore to eat. Also it is that time of year, she may just have a stronger "fasting" instict than others.

I checked her mouth before i posted this.. inside is perfect.. nothing out of the ordinary.

i'll keep trying her every week or two.. hopefully she'll come around.
