O.k., I finally have a few pics of my savvy, Raven, that I picked up in April 2004. Still unsexed, but I call it a "her" all the time.

Enjoy.

This is one of my favorite pics:

Coldblooded, try uploading the pics to your ssnakess.com gallery and posting them through that.. I don't think that the site you're using allows linking.

I hope. :)

Crocdoc: Thanks, I've had the little rascal since April 18 2004... so almost 8 months to the day. I'm guessing that s/he was about 1 or 2 months old at that time. S/He is about 14 inches total length and around 100+ grams, I believe. (looks bigger when puffed up) :)

Anyone know how will a vet determine sex? I'm told probing is useless. Do they just look at the features?

I am just guessing but I would say male. Get some weight on it and post in a few months and I'll guess again. Once you get some weight on it take some pics of the tailbase.

Wow those are some awsome pics, I agree with most and really like the first one. The features of it face reminds me of a raptor from jurassic park

Thank you guys... they are the first few shots I've taken with a camera for many years, let alone a digi cam.

I'm actually too embarassed to show the full "setup", as it is an aquarium (30X12X12 inches).

I'm in the process of building a new enclosure, but every day that passes I feel even worse for not starting the enclosure sooner.

I'll put up a pic any way, I guess. It's very simple, though.

Thanks for looking.

Just rocks, dirt, hollow log and a light...

when you do build the new enclosure, don't have a screen top. Mount the lights inside and put your vents low down on the back or side walls.

Thanks for the advice... I will use it.

I actually have the screen covered right now to increase the humidity and keep the heat in...

Humidity is between 50-65 and temps on the cool side are 80 with heat on and 75 with heat off (night).

I don't like the glass enclosure at all, hard to keep temps constant, but it's what I had to work with at the time. :(

Thanks for taking the time to listen :)

Very cute, I know what you mean about the water, as soon as i place in clean water my Nile dives in and craps in it, brings dirt in it instantly. I change his water on average 5 times a day, lol.

Yeah, it's crazy... I took that water pic not more than 10 minutes after placing it in the enclosure.

If I don't get rid of the mud, s/he will wallow in it and toss it all over the place... so cute.

No, sir, it is not a tick.

I actually went and checked just in case, 'cause sometimes you just don't notice until someone else does.
