Pretty toxic dude..... There are so many complication that go along with a bite from gaboons...... Cytotoxins, cardiotoxins, neurotoxins, and the list goes on...... The cardiotoxins cause most of the clinical effects...... And the bites are very necrotic...... You stand a chance of lossing atleast a couple of fingers if it is not treated promptly..... And the venom is injected deap due to the overly sized fangs....... Compartment syndrome is bad news..... It has even been said that a bite from bitis can weaken your heart for good..... This is one snake no one would ever want to take a hit from.....

Hey Gregg M, is there any sites you can recommend that explains Cytotoxins, Cardiotoxins and so on. Im not interested in ever keeping hots but I do enjoy learning about them.

Gregg M whats there temperments like, I was watching this show where this guy got tagged by his twice in one month. Im not sure where he was from but officals of some sort confiscatied it.

I dont know about getting tagged twice a month.....LOL..... He would run out of tissue in a year at that rate....LOL..... If I had to judge their temperment I would say lazy but not at all tame...... They are pretty much like a bomb waiting to go off..... You will get bitten if you put yourself in their strike zone...... And their strike zone is 360 degrees and atleast half their length...... Not a beginner snake by any stretch.....
