i was just reading on NERD's site that the sulawesi retics are usually bigger than the other forms i was wondering if anyone could back this up or if you think its another kind thats the biggest.

Take it from a guy who has had many retics (me). Sulawesis get big but there's more to it. They are maybe the locality that matures faster but tend to slow down on growth at 21 or 22 feet just like any other locality. Perhaps they reach that in 3 or 4 years while it takes at least 5 or 6 for others, but eventually are caught up by any sumatran or thai.
It's like lizards. Tegus grow faster than
most monitors, but monitors became bigger with time.
If i had to pick one retic for biggest i'd say tigers. As far as localities go, maybe Malaysians. But that's all hard to say. the biggest growth potential comes from any first generation hybrid of big localities, especially females.

ok now that i no that what would you say the average size for a 100% normal would be?(im just asking this because i like the colors and patterns of normals the best)

By normals, i believe you are marking out Sulawesis and also any yellowhead locality. Perhaps you are talking about sumatrans, then.
Well, any normal can get as big as you have heard of. Expect at least 20 feet. Some can stop at 18' others get larger. Samantha was a normal retic and she was 26 feet long, so...

so if i were to buy a retic at a reptile show(which i probably wouldnt do) is there any way to tell what locality it is?(saying its marked normal on the container)

The ones called normals come from Sumatra or other parts of Indonesia. But many times they have locality crossed blood. In captivity nobody is tracking down specific locality to breed, unless it's an OBVIOUS locality (like makasars).
I have a normal retic with obvious sulawesi influence (head larger than usual, ripped pattern on it's back) and she is growing like a maniac.
