Hi, I've been thinking about buying my first snake, he's a Cali King, and a really nice one with handling at the pet store I work at. He is eating now, it's just that I have to leave the pinky in over night. Is that a bad thing? Should I wait for a different one or is that just how that snake eats? Just curious, wouldn't want to buy him and then regret it.
Is it eating f/t or live...?

Live, I haven't tried f/t yet. I want to wait for him to get more steady with his feedings.

Live feeding snakes, especially first snakes id say, are usually ones to stay away from. Getting most snakes from live to f.t isnt fun, nor easy.
Id suggest finding an established feeder on f.t
I agree. For your first snake, it's a good idea to get some experience on one that is already somewhat established. Live feeders are best left to someone that has a bit of snake experience under their belt :)

Try giving it a frozen thawed first , see if it takes it then make your decision. Some snakes just don't like to eat while being watch and will eat when it's dark. It's normal. TB

I bet it will eat a f/t pinky if left with the snake overnight, what cali king won't ;)
