I saw Eric Clapton in 87 and that was about the greatest concert I ever saw. I swear the man could kick a guitar over onstage and he'd make it sound good :D

Phish at Saratoga Performing Arts Center in NY. They had a 2 day show in their final tour at SPAC. The first night I was front row and it was amazing. By the time they did the encore I was in awe, but then the encore blew me away. They did a slower song, Wading in the velvet sea, and it just set the night off perfectly. Not too mention they only played 5 songs in the 2nd set! For those of you jam band fans you know that means they basicly just jammed out on the instruments for about 20-30 minutes per song!

The second night was great too. They had a 4 song 2nd set, and for an encore did Good Time bad time by Zeppelin. Wasn't near as close the 2nd night, but I'd say the set lists were a bit better than the first night. Either way I just concider it one big extremely intense concert. Didn't get to make it to Coventry for their final show but this was good enough for me :D

August 6. 1994

Reverend Horton Heat, Pop Will Eat Itself, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, and a really crappy Soundgarden.

I'd actually gone specifically for Soundgarden and they sucked horribly. But the other bands more than made up for it.

Fantastic show.

Next best was Rammstein at the Docks in Toronto. The pyro kicked ***.

The AntiBalas Afrobeat Orchestra is by far the best concert I've ever been to.... had never heard of them but just went with some friends, and it was by far the most I have ever danced without any energy inspiring substances.

Runner up would be Area 51 from a few years back, with Moby, Outkast, Da Roots, Paul Oakenfold, Timo Maas, The Orb...

absolute best was Funker Vogt.. it was the most amazing live show i've EVER seen.... next, Icon of Coil, after that.. Das Ich, Rammstein (met most of them too) , covenant & Melotron..

all were spectacular shows, but Funker just took the cake.

Bjork and Bowie.....in the same show!!!! Amazing, simply amazing. You don't have to love them (and many don't), but you have to appreciate their musical ingenuity. Brilliant!

Radiohead in T.O. (2001?) was pretty awesome but I think all-round experience was Elvis Costello last summer in Minneapolis. Sat and drank with his keyboard tech and sound man on an oustide patio while it snowed, then got to meet Elvis and had him sign autographs and snap a few pics, THEN got backdstage passes from him... pretty frickin' cool and a great show to boot!!!! :D

White Zombie and Pantera at Copps a looooong time ago. Zombie was hosed..... he's always complaining his throat is sore (no kidding!!!), but Pantera just rocked the rest of the night. Aerosmith at SkyDome mid 90's was also cool.

When i was staying in Hesperia (Victorville) California, i got to see a rare thing, Incubus back to their roots, playing a small local Bar (somewhere in Orange county, cant remember where).

but the all time best was the "S" man (Roger Sanchez) spinning the Dark, And Durty House music at a local afterhours club here in Ottawa called Surface, hopin to those tribal beats from 10pm - 8am in the morning! DAMN! it was a good time!

No other concert I've ever seen has even come close to AC/DC.

Seen them 3 times (91, 96, 2001), and they seems to get better each tour. Coming around again in 2005, if you've never seen them, even if you aren't a fan of their music - gotta check them out, you never know when it will be the last tour.

I've only seen them once and I didn't get enough the first time.

Has to be Judas Priest, Megadeth, and Testament all in one night, at the Dome in Calgary in i think 1991. Absolutely Rocked.

My second choice has to be The Rolling Stones in Edmonton in 1995.

Ryan, the Roatrip idea sounds good.

Who wants to follow AC/DC accross Canada. I'd sell snakes to do that, I really would.

By March 2005, they will all be over 50 years old. They smoke, most used to drink heavy, they eat lots of meat - tours every 5 years are all pretty risky - I want to make sure I get to see them more than once this time around.

AC/DC is god! Always have been, always will be!

Oh, and I've dragged a lot of people to AC/DC concerts. My mother for one, who was not a big fan of theirs. She also came to see Kiss back in Make up. While Kiss put on a good show, she agreed that it was not as good as AC/DC.

Scientists have actually dones study's about why AC/DC concerts are so well attended. It seems the rythmic beating of blues based rock and roll, at that level, affects your cirulatory system, and gives you a big high.

I've seen lots of good concerts, but nothing like AC/DC, not even close.

Hey you saw AC/DC with your mom too Ryan?

My mom was with me when I saw them but that was because she got me 4 tickets for my birthday and refused to give them to me unless I took her. That was the third time seeing them for her.
