Would a 40G Breeder be big enough for a ball python for his whole life?

It would be way too big for a hatchling, but should be big enough for an adult. It'll be a pain in the *** to heat, humidify, and clean though.

By 40g breeder, do you mean an aquarium?

I think he does. I kept my 5ft male in a 3ft sterilite cage. He ate better, shed better, "went" on a regular basis..... and the 40g breeder was a PITA to keep properly heated and keep humidity in it.

What would you guys suggest then? It'll be my only snake for a while, i don't have enough space for more than one, so this one I want to look nice.

What city do you live in? There might be someone near by that can build you a nice looking custon enclosure. OR, if you're handy with tools, you could build one yourself. Then you get the benefits of a proper enclosure AND get a something you can dress up a bit to look nice.
