I've been reading the posts about different genetics and have a few questions of my own. I understand about dominant and recessive traits and have done biology in high school and college (although that was a little while ago :) ). What I am trying to understand isif pattern and color genes travel together. For example, what would happen if you cross a motley which I understand to be a pattern morph to say a striped boa? Can you breed a striped boa to a ghost and have a striped ghost? Also how is it that a super motley no longer displays the motley pattern but is just a solid color? In the ghost thread is was mention about the genetic value of ghosts since the dislay both a dominant (hypo) and recessive (anery) trait, if bred properly. I was wondering if someone could explain what would be good morphs to breed to and what you should stay away from (this was so much easier when I was dealing with the color of flowers!).
