I am doing an informative speech on what happens when people don't research their pets before they buy them. This includes: people who unwittingly end up with 6 foot iguanas; lizards with broken legs from bone disease because their owners never got them UV lights; goldfish in bowls who never grow but whose guts keep expanding until they die from lack of room (goldfish can get 15 inches and live to 18 yrs); people who end up with one fish in their tank because they didn't know that oscars (bigtime preds) might actually decide to eat their little neons; dyed fish and how 80% never even survive the dyeing process--and I could go on forever.
Anyway, for my speech, I need more than just experience and common sense--I need books, websites, places from which I can get good quotes and other solid backup for my argument. So, if anyone knows any good websites, I would I appreciate it!!
Also, if there is any particularly bad/common/both consequences from lack of research on a pet that you want to tell me about, please do!!!!
Thanks
