View Full Version : Cooling time for Childrens Pythons
I have a pair of adult childrens pythons. Never been bred before. Anyways, they are definetly of breeding size and age. I started to cool them about 10 days ago and I was wondering what the recommended cooling time period was? And also as far as I understand(and this is my first time breeding snakes) after the cooling period, I warm them up feed them heavily, and then I dont know exactly what to do. When do I introduce the male to the female? Any other little tips would really be appreciated. THanx in advance.

They should have "cool" nights and regular warm days for at least 8 weeks starting pretty much anytime. Introduce the male into the female's enclosure in 6 weeks and mating MAY happen. If not, at the end of 8 weeks, raise the temps, feed the female, spray the male with warm water and introduce him often then. He should breed vigorously!
alright thank you very much.
also it's a good idea to feed your female very heavily up to and during her cooling,,,,,Good luck!!

If that female has access to a warm spot for a good portion of the day during cycling, feed her for sure!
