I am just curious on this one, I get my peat moss and bark mulch from garden centers and my papertowel from Wal-Mart.

I hate seeing people spend all of that money on reptile substrates.

Well, I use repti carpet and astro turf...plus newspaper and paper towel. I get my paper towel from industrial supplies, though when I was using aspen shavings, I made a deal with a local mill to buy shavings from them (actually, I bought the wooded shapes they made for bird toy manufacturers, and they gave me the shavings for free :D ).

Newspaper comes from my sisters work (they never sell all the papers by the end of the day, they just chop off the headings for claiming purposes and I get the leftovers :)). Before that, it used to come from my neighbours. I get my natural substrates from garden centres and towels/sheets and whatnot from Wal-Mart.

Paper towels from the grocery store, and newspapers from what's left after my parents get to it.

Right now my favourite substrate ever is Eco-Earth, and I just got it at the show. (10$)

I get Eco Earth at shows or visits to pet stores. My local one sells it pretty cheap....I also get my wood like Aspen and Pine from my local pet store.

Moss and the like I get at garden centers.

Paper towel I get from whoever is having a sale. I usually try and buy 10-40 rolls at a time depending on the sale/price.

Dirt and rocks i get at a local masonry/garden shop for a really good price.

papertowel I get from Giant tiger in 12 roll packs for $5.00.

newspaper I get free from neighbours and a nearby store that tosses them at the end of the day.

Aspen (small shredded one) I buy at walmart, or if I can find the really large bags (they usually come in the larger chips) when I get out to Ottawa or other larger cities for a good price, I grab a bag.

eco earth, I get from a friend that has a hagen account and can get me a good price. But I don't use that much other than for my berber and my turtles.

Sand, I get washed play sand from crappy tire or home depot.

rocks I get from garden center, or sometimes my aunt brings me some slates when she comes to visit. She has some beautiful gardens!

For those who like Eco Earth or Bed a Beast or other coco brick products, try finding an indoor garden shop aka Grow store, most sell for a lot cheaper than pet stores can. Usually pay around $3 bucks or less a brick when buying in quantity. Just my money saving tip for the day.
