temps for dums (sorry for all the questions)

i have read alot and what isthe best temp for the cool side i have a 50 gallon tank and the temp on the cool side with a 75 watt is about 78.5 is that good or is that to cool. if it is to cool should i go up to a 100 watt or what else cal i do the hot side has a under the tank heater and it is staying right about 88-92

Don't apologize for asking questions, that's EXACTLY what these forums were created for! :D

I don't keep them myself, but from what I understand that is a good gradient you are providing. Hopefully someone will confirm or correct that statement ;) How are you measuring the temperatures? Make sure you are measuring the surface temperatures rather than the air temps. Stick on thermometers aren't very useful for reptiles. Temp guns or digital thermometers (with probe) are the way to go.

yes i'm measuring the temps with a digital with a probe i have a temp gun coming in the mail this week.

dumerils are pretty easy going as far as temps, humidity and almost everything about their housing and upkeep.
The temps seem fine to me the snakes will go were they feel most comfortable.

that gradient is fine i've found through experience with them that they tend to sit right in the middle rarely moving to bask or cool down. they like a fairly even temp, all mine seem to l;ike the area around 84 best

I keep mine at 80 to 82 degrees on the coolside. and have a heat pad at 88 to 90 degrees on the warm side. At night i lower the temp to 78 on the cool side.

Dumies are easy to care for 15 degree dif from cool to hot seems OK for my guys and my room has high humidity anyways
