Well we normally have some lights here and there on the house. You know, the norm for decorations in most neighborhoods.

Well this year the old man across the street decided he would try and get in a little stab better on us with a polar bear that lights up and moves his head.

Yeah I don't think so.

I went out and bought these two 8 foot inflatable, weather proof Christmas balloons the day after he put up his polar bear. Hang your head in shame bear man!

So far kids stop and look and people in cars love them. I am loving these things and I have already located a place that sells used parade sized balloons so next year will be even better.

There's just enough snow on the ground so that you can't see the grass anymore here in Bradford, all the snow came yesterday and last night.
Marisa, I have seen both the bear and your display while driving down your street - you win ;)

YES! Thank you Ryan!

And you know frankly I don't care if I am happy for winning a battle the old man doesn't even know he is in. So. :D :P :P

The lights are not up on our house just yet. But when they are , WATCH OUT! :D And we only have about two inches of snow, if that. The balloons did just great through the storm too!

Marisa
P.S. The hydro scared me as well but each of those balloons actually uses less wattage than your standard 12 foot string of lights! We use LED lights now as well so that will help when the normal lights go up.

I remember back when i was young, there would never be as much snow in ontario, or toronto than there would be in quebec. I guess this year you guys have more than us, no snow yet in montreal.

do these air things disipate a lot of heat? would look cool to have one in the living room and all sit arount it ;-)

Snow belongs on ski mountains, not on your lawn :P

I used to love snow, because it meant no school (since the whole city of Vancouver has like 3 snowplows total).

Then I went to school out east for 5 years and snow meant walking 20 minutes through the snow to class, getting completely covered in it and then melting on you when you go inside. Then, despite stripping off a few layers, the heating was so high you'd end up sweating your *** off by the end of the lecture. Finally, on your way home, you'd have th pleasure of that sweat freezing on your back as the wind blows against you on your way home.

Needless to say, I'm very happy to be back in Vancouver. If I want to see snow, I'll drive up to Whistler. Otherwise, I'll take warm drizzly rain anytime.

LOL. Nice snow rant Han :p

Marisa, those are some kick *** balloons :D I'd have to say you definitely win ;)

When I was a kid, out by my grandparent's house there was this street that they called "Candy Cane Lane" -- it was insane, you've never seen so many Christmas decorations in your life. Pretty much every house on the street would be decorated -- some just with lights and a few things in the front yard, but lots of the houses had like insanely crazy setups -- can't even imagine how much money they put into them. It was great though, we used to walk down to the street every year after christmas dinner and look at all the houses... unfortunately they stopped doing it a few years ago, since a lot of the original families had moved and the new ones weren't decorating.

Anyways... enough rambling and reminiscing :p Great balloons Marisa!

I'm sorry...but the bear moves his head?! I am just not sure who the winner here is myself...

OMG Andy don't even go there. Your post is getting me all riled up and twitching for more decorations! More! More!

I don't know whats happening to me. I've never been like this. A little competition shows up though and it's like I am obsessed. :D :D

Marisa
P.S. The bear might move his head but let's take "on time" into consideration here. We turn our guys on around 3 in the afternoon until midnight. Bear boy is only running two-three hours per night because he is scared of the hydro!
