Does anyone play online?

I have SOCOM 2 and Battlefront right now.

I mainly play SOCOM though...I'm actually trying Battlefront Online RIGHT now as I type this..for the first time (and i got it the same day it came out.)

I use to play socom 1 online like a champ. Im going to buy socom 2 once my exams are done in a few weeks. I wonder what Metal Gear 3 online is like, I'll give that a try too over my winter break.

SOCOM 2 definately is worth it.

im not a halo fan personally but yea i do pay to play and i also have found that the xbox on line is alot more reliable than that of the ps2 online

SOCOM 2 came out with a new patch...lag is very rare..and almost no glitches.

Can't comment on the lag but try this in multiplayer Battlefront...

Get a buddy. Play the Hoth mission as the Rebel Alliance.

Now go kill as many AT-AT's as you can with a snowspeeder. I KNOW we all SOOOOOO wanted to do that when we were like 12 :)

My buddy and I replayed that mission for about 3 hours straight... I think the most we killed was 6, just cause they wouldn't spawn any faster. heh.

As CRESTIES said Metal Gear 3, I am waiting on that one over Socom.........always have been always will be a big fan of Metal Gear.....its almost here though so the waiting is almost over :)

I gotta read and pick up info on this online stuff and give it a shot.

Not even close peeps. You haven't played "online" until you've played Counter Strike: Source on a map with 48 players or Far Cry in a HUGE 1km map (mod) with 32 players. Available only on the PC.

Nothing comes even close to that.

LOL! Pretty insane eh? I can't wait until all the next-gen games come out with the Source and Doom3 engines. Its just crazy what they can do now. And then there's the unreleased Unreal3 engine that coul just blow everyone out of the water!


Do you have the optical audio output hooked up to a 5.1 system for your PS2? That totally impressed me when I found out that they came with that! But I guess they would have to, being a DVD player and all.

The optical audio cable is totally worth getting for your PS2, if you have a receiver to connect it to of course. The difference is dramatic compared to RCA connections, same with the S-Video. The RCA connection is something that does the job but doesn't do justice to some of the better games.

Those screen shots are sick, and it's obviously true that you can do a lot more on a PC than on a console but I have enough trouble keeping a PC running well enough to post on here let alone keep up with ever more demanding games. The Playstation never gets a virus or slows down or stops working altogether the way PCs do, I never need to worry about upgrading memory or video cards or spending anytime at all maintaining it. I'll just upgrade to a new console when something new comes out.

If you have an Xbox and want to play online, but don't want to pay 70 bucks for an Xbox Live account, there's a decent free alternative: Xlink Kai at www.teamxlink.co.uk

You just need a PC to run Xlink and massage the packets for you.

If you have a modded box, the new versions of Xbox Media Centre now have Kai support.

Well I'm on Socom 2 almost every night... normally in Canada west or Can west 1. Names 'DeathQueen'. I apologize ahead of time for any crude remarks I make. I'm nothing like I am on Socom in real life. I just live out my dark side online lol. Oh and as for no lag on socom LMAO!!! That's the funniest thing I ever heard!!!!!!!!!!!!

Currently we are playing Half Life 2. Both the game and the "new" Counter Strike.

I love how in the newer Counter Strike, the bodies fall so cool and the blood splatters so neat! Picking up dead peoples granedes is alright too amoungst how much better the maps look!
