I know bp's don't need light to survive but I read somewhere (I can't find it now) that they should have day/night periods. What is the optimum day/night hour? ie 12 hours light/12 hours dark. My bp is in an area of my house that even at night light from the front room will allow light to reach his tank. I have been covering the tank with a blanket to give him more dark hours since i'm up until the wee hours of the morning and I figured out that he was only getting about 4 hours of dark. So whats a good dark/light split??
