i have two questions
how "aggressive" are green anacondas compared to other large boids?
and how much water is involved in properly housing a green anaconda?
Im no expert but have read as much as I can about them. Greens can be aggressive but it all depends on the individual. WC greens have a greater chance of being aggressive than CB...which is usually true for all animals. You have to be preppared for a snake that will be quiet long and very very heavy, that will produce a really nasty bite if biten. Ive heard from personal stories from friends of mine conda bites hurt more than most other species.
Water to greens isnt completely neccessary and I have many an experience keeper saying they do not need as much as traditionally though. They will obviously use the water quite a bit if given too them and thus will severly limit where the snake spends its time. All that is really required is a decent sized water dish and a soak once or twice a week. Condas will sit for days in water if given the chance and usually deficate in it quite quickly. Making changing water a pain, especially when you have a huge amount of water for them to soak in.

ive seen anacondas both savage and 'tame'. however ive seen aparently quiet and tame anacondas turn for no reason. They are unpredictable snakes and although some can be handled with ease, dont take your eyes off them.
In my opinion they should have enough water in order to soak as and when they want. a square fish pond put into a wooden frame with a plug in the bottom works well.
Amazing snakes!!
Part or the reason anacondas, even "tame" ones bite, is in the way they hunt. They hunt either with just their eyes above water or hunt by feel under water. Though they are ambush predeters they will bite at anything that comes their way. They don't really rely on eye sight especially under water.
This is really evident with neonates. They can be mellow as anything and be sliding up your arm Then WHAM they are bitting, I dont think that they even can help it. your warm maybe you moved a bit and to them its worth a test bite to see if your pray, and when you react they then throw the coils for the kill.
I've had a few anacondas in my day and let me tell you they have a very strong bite even the new borns.

You might prefer starting off with a yellow 'conda, cause they're much smaller and you need to have ALOT of experience with giant snakes. You might consider getting a yellow or perhaps a burmese before you get a 'conda, because getting from a Beardy to a BCI is something relatively easy to do, but going from a BCI to a green 'conda is another thing!!!
