I am thinking about getting a pair of cresties at some point in time, and of course am also thinking about what I need to keep them at their best.
I currently have a 25 gallon upright terrarium that is lided on the top (screen). Would this be sufficant for a pair of cresties, or should I look for somethin else?
The pic is of when I first got it, so it's dirty and looks bad. It is in much better shape now :p
I have nothing else that needs this terrarium, so it will just be waiting until I find something that will thrive in it.
Thanks in advance to all who answer :D

That looks like a great enclosure for cresties...you could probably house 1.2 in there comfortably.
I think 1.2 would be tight. I would keep it to a pair. Unless it's actually more then 25 gallons. My 29 gallon I would only stick 2 cresties in and it's 18 tall, 30 long and 12 deep. Just my two cents.

You could put a trio in there but try to create surface space and lots of hides.
Send that perfect crested gecko tank my way and i'll test it out for ya.

I have a 3'x1'x1' for one cresty. Would that be big enough for one do you think or do you think i should buy a bigger tank for it? I want to have a good cage for it and i may want to buy a second one later on.
jon that is a good size...is it an aquarium?? If it is try turning it on it's side so it's 3 feet tall instead of long since cresties are arboreal

I could do that. I also have a few smaller ones and a bigger one yet. So if i were to take the glass outof the two biggest ones and make a new frame for it taller would that be good? Or is making your own aquarium not a good thing?

Yeah. I also want to get a rubber tree of something for it to climb on so i need a cage to be taller for the tree to grow. Like if i were to build a cage i would have it taller with UV light over one part (lower wattsage of coerce) and then have a section off the side without the light
Well, any height over a foot and a half is good. You shouldn't have to remake a tank. The 3 footer would be nice height for a crested. I don't know how cresties are semi arboreal and you need a lower tank?? All my crested geckos stay on the sides and plants, I never seen them on the ground unless they decide to hide under the papertowl for the day. When I had a lone male in a tank 30 inches tall I never seen him on the lower foot of the cage, always up high. Crested geckos are arboreal. They will stay on the ground if that's all you give them, but that just isn't good husbandry.

I `d just throw my tank on its side
thats what i do for my marble gecko and it works great he has some floor room but way more room to climb

3 snake plants in that tank would look great they could all have their own. Get a couple pothos so they could hide during the day under the leaves when they start to vine you can place they anywhere. Ad some verticle and horizontal peices of wood and your set! I was thinking of getting a 25 high for some new guys but I found athe perfect rubbermaid bin at walmart it's 17.5x 17.5 x23.5h super clear with a locking lid.

im not saying you need a lower tank im saying if you put a crestie in a 20 gallon long and one beside it in a 20 gallong long on its side so its taller both of the cresties provided they were healthy to begin with would remain healthy and both would do just fine.
Little Dragon, you wouldn't hapeen to have a picture of that Rubbermaid would you?? Also, how much do they sell for??
