hey everyone i live in pittsburgh PA and i have been field herping at my dads farmhouse since early summer and i havent found a single snake!!!! just wondering if anyone has any tips for me

Well it is getting alittle cool on the east caost for snakes, BUT the salamander population will be in full force till about mid Dec.! Try herping at night near watersources, and wooded areas with leaves on the ground, get on your hands and knees and go over the leaves AS SLOW AS YOU CAN you should turn up a few redback salamnders or who knows maybe even a spotted or slimy.
