View Full Version : brindle phase?
One of the local pet stores has a "brindle phase ratsnake" for sale. Anyone know what species this might be? It's obviously a North American Elaphe (okay okay...Pantherophis). Not a corn snake as far as I can tell. The head and saddles remind me a lot of E obsoleta obsoleta.
Another reason not to buy from pet stores. They dont even know what they're selling. They told me they thought it might be an American species but weren't sure. *sigh*

Brindles are black rats. It should not be for sale in Ontario.

Amen. I had to go take a couple snakes from a local pet shop. They were selling them as "Egyptian Ratsnakes", turned out one was a Psammophis! :bugged: Hell, the Egyptian Coluber they had sent one of their people to the hospital. Thank god it was not the Psammophis, or worse, some kid bought it. I am done venting.

 That's not what i said. It's a funny thought that someone would mix up a sand for a rat snake, not the fact that he actually did.
