Okay, I found a post like this on another message board, but it didn't apply to me there. However, on this board, it truly does.

If you are currently with someone you met online on Ssnakess, or at an expo, etc. tell us about it!


I am currently with my girlfriend Nicole (Nicky), aka Wish-fire and we met through ssnakess and the reptile expo. It started with her adding me to msn, then meeting once or twice at reptile expos, now we've been together for almost 6 months.

i wish i could say that I met Jess on ssnakess.. i met her on another non-herp related website.. closing in on 2 years now thou.
congrats to you both. it is hard for herpers to find someone who will accept their habit.. even harder to find someone who shares that addiction :)..

Ryan, that totally made me burst out laughing!

But to my story. I didn't meet Vanan through ssnakess. We met through the "other site", I had posted my profile saying I lived in Coquitlam, BC where coincidently, where Vanan lived too. We exchanged a bit of email and chatted through ICQ. I was going to buy a snake and invited him a long and we hit it off well. Believe it or not, we found that we lived a mere three blocks away from each other! A few months later we got together and it will be to four years pretty soon.

Sometimes I feel cheesy to say we met online, but nowadays it's a valid way to get together, back in the day, it meant you were a geek.

I met Gary online...December 27th 2002. I was on yahoo messenger, and he happened to be online as well. We started chatting about our dogs, and hit it off really well.

We met 1 month later (January 23rd), and moved in together May 28th 2003.

He proposed 6:43 AM Christmas Morning last year, and hope to get married once I stop trying to buy so many herps :p

He didn't like many animals other than dogs, but I had my cat Bo and eventually got a rat. We ended up with many many pets, and reptiles got in there after about a year (I got my first snake for Valentine's Day this year :D ).

Now he loves the lizards and the spotted pythons, not many others. I just traded all the ball pythons and the boa for a second beardie (male) and the breeding pair of spotteds ;)

LOL nothing wrong with herps for gifts.

The first christmas me and my man were together i got him his first leos (which have basicly became mine, just dont' tell him that.

Then i bought my own b-day present a crested gecko from anthony c.

Plus for x-mas presents i always ask for home depot gift certificates or borders book stores for supplies i want.

I got lucky i met my man though a job we worked together with for 3 years, and i was so happy he enjoys keeping herps or else we would probly be having alot of fights over it. LOL
