I told her I'd say its a JCP from those pics too... if i didnt know any better. It's an IJ, and from the one pic on the branch you can see SLIGHT change in colouration on the banding.

its new guinea.. high yellow.

thought of this last night.. could be a cross of locales.
new guinea with its brownish earth tones and one of the other locales which seem to keep its velvet black banding. i'm not sure which locale. from what i've seen from online texts put together from various field sources, and a national geographic documentary in Merauke, Irian Jaya... the velvet banding and high yellow comes from Merauke. so i'm suggesting merauke-new guinea stuff is floatin around that snake's DNA.
