Nice animal redcarpet, what subspecies is your haje? She looks like a naja haje sensu stricto, but I'm not very sure.

I have a question.

How do you handle a cobra?

Do you get their vemom ducts (?) removed or do you just try not to get bit? Would one bite kill you if it has vemom?

Sorry about these lame questions but I am some what ignorant on the keeping of this animal

Thats what I think, ya a venomous would be cool, but ahh what if I get bit, I don't think my Town's hospital of 1000's people carry snake anti venom...lol

Now why did you have to go and ask that? you have started something now. ha ha, someone tie down Scott!

you use hooks and tongs. its a way to wrangle these snakes without getting bit. saying anything about ducts getting removed, will unleash all hell on this forum... lol.

I have a question. How do you handle a cobra?

The correct answer is a) Carefully, and b) with the proper safety equipment.

A bite can and has kille many people.

All I know is they came from Tanzinia. If you know where I can find more info on subspecies please let me know!

I had to handle 3 specimens of about 1.7-1.8 meters. Dont know what that makes in ft. But they were impressive! I can tell you. And really bad tempered. Sometimes they spreaded their hoods for up to an hour without calmin down... But all were absolute beauties. Totaly black without a single spot anywhere.

I can see if I have some pics left.

regards,

Maik
