so how much does a crested have to weight before they should start mating? I'm just curious really, my largest one of the three is only 30 grams, so they are all far from it, but humor me please. And yes these things are addicting, I just bought another one on sunday and it escaped on monday. Don't worry though I found her that night, I got lucky cause she's only 2 grams, a little thing to find.

In the rhac book it says 30-35 grams but I would wait until they all weigh 35g just to be on the safe side.

Does the tail account for much weight because my female is tailess and she weighs 31 so would I concider this a safe breeding weight for a tailess? However I'm going to breed her for a couple of months but I haven't found anything on tail weights. And Ryan how did your baby escape. I've got one of my new babies in a 10 gallon tank t he rest are in keepers, and it's got a screen top they didn't climb through a hole did they?

Just for future reference to people who might lose a gecko, where did you find the little guy when he escaped?

I found mine on the back of my dresser watching me play on the computer haha. I looked for a couple hours that night in my room, I had my door closed so I knew he was in here somewhere. I turned the lights on to rip apart my room to find him and then turned them off for an hour and looked again and I found him. I would say on something off the ground is where you will find him.

If I were to bread a crested, I think a nice light tempura batter would be appropriate

when my little gecko escaped she went straight down the dresser and just stayed there till I found her, and I'm glad I did. I do know how she got out though, I have a hinged lid and it bowed a little bit, just enough for her to squeeze through and be gone, I may name her Houdini for that, cause for the longest time I was perplexed at how she got out.
