Im kinda new to cresteds, got one for a few months now, but i was just curious as to what affects the price on them. Like i kno with dragons bright reds and oranges are sought after, for geckos the less spots the more $$, hows it werk with crested geckos?

Curious for general, and cuz i want to get a red crested gecko if i can find one. So i kinda wanna seewhat fair pricing is before i start hunting

Depends on whos selling, how bright the red is, sex, age, etc. I bet you can get one for 150 if you looked hard enough and this price would be for a baby.

Also, less spot doesn't mean more money, there are some great looking dalmations out there. Maybe spots bring down value if it were combined with another morph like harlequin.

Like Steve said, it depends on the colour, age, pattern and who bred it, just like with pretty much any reptile on the market out there.

Generally, beige-rusty coloured geckos are lower in price range, while bright red is a more desired colour so it's usually more expensive.

As for patterning, dalmation spots and flame like 'fire' patterns generally make the gecko worth more.

For some REALLY high end colours/patterns, go here: http://www.pangeareptile.com/id87.htm

There's some AMAZING morphs/colour patterns on that site, and those types are deemed 'investment quality'.

Good luck :D

That site has some pretty nice cresteds. it's pin pointing the top breeders in Canada that's most difficult. There's a ton of us crested sites compared to a search in canada. I might be going to flordia in january to shoot a documentary I could possibly pick up some cresteds if I feel they can manage the ride. I have a couple surprises in store for the new year :)

Aren't they addicting. Who needs clothes when you can buy cresteds. I hope I find some in my stocking this year. I'm glad they aren't on ebay although it would be interesting to have a crested auction!
