This is Verena, my baby box turtle which I got from a friend who had decided to "take her in," and, by the time she realized that she couldn't take care of her, it was too late to let her back outside. So, because I have taken care of animals for about as long as can remember and still keep herps of all sorts, she gave her to me. She is now out of my friend's old 10g. with dead grass as a substrate and in my 50g. long terrarium plastered with green paper so that she doesn't feel "out in the open" with a dirt/peat moss substrate, plenty of hiding places, a big, shallow waterdish that she can soak in if she wants, a heat lamp, and a fluorescent UVB light.

She is a tiny female Eastern Box Turtle hatchling 2 inches long.

Glad to hear you have a large soaking area, many people dont realize that babies love it wet, not damp, but wet. Although not aquatic they love the water, but tend to stray awau towards adulthood.
