hi everybody,

i have 2 albino females in a 25 gallon tank together
paper towel as their substrate

i used to have a 10-20 gallon UTH from exo-terra
i now have a fluker's 20-30 gallon UTH on the same tank

i dont think that the paper towel is enough, does anybody know anything about maybe putting something else on the ground, other than slate (slate's heating up too)
i think that i witnessed some rapid growth possibly due to the temps being high

i saw one of them come out tonight out of a hide box to go through the heated area, and it looked as if he was maybe being burned... he kept lifting his hand up like the fingers were being burned and he was trying to tell me something...
after that, hes been laying down above the heater, maybe not directly above, but really close...

is there something i can do? i just unplugged the heater for a little bit.. that should cool things down for a short time
anything else i can do?

Most people use plug the UTH into a dimmer switch to control the heat. You can buy a 'rheostat' at pet stores, I think it's Zoo-med brand.
On any of my tanks with ceramic tiles there's no dimmer so that there's enough heat coming through the tiles.
How hot is the area above the UTH?
