Hi there. I know the method of heating prefered is heat panels/tape - this cage is for a uromastyx. Dimensions are 36x16x18h. I need to get the basking temp up high - 110f +

Where can I find a light fixture(incandescant) that could fit and work well in this cage? I do have a 24" double flouresent fixture to provide UV.

The cage is also vented well - one vent per side and one along the back wall.

I'm weary of using your everyday incadesnt fixture right against the melamine as I'm hoping to use halogen bulbs.

Anyone have an idea??

Thanks!

Home Depot will have ceramic fixtures that you can use. Make sure it is ceramic and not plastic though. I use a halogen bulb in one of those fixtures just fine, as long as it doesn't exceed the recommended wattage (which the bulb I have in there isn't even close to coming near).

I have a melamine cage that used to have a 75 watt halogen. It was built for a Savannah monitor, and with the 75'er in there, the basking spot was 130 degrees. A 50 got up to 110. I'd highly recommend a halogen in a ceramic light fixture, as Linds said... the plastic ones would melt in NO time.
