Do you mean australian carpet python ?
If so what species do you have, Jungle, Irian Jaya, or Costal. There are a few others but thats the most common.

is it bad for them to eat 2 days in a row as a juvenile?

Its hard to say how much and how often to feed a snake. It depends on many factors. For instant, when you bought the snake if it was under weight and or in poor health you may feed it more than usual.

For a juvenile Carpet I would feed it every 5-7 days. Make sure you are feeding it big enough prey items so he grows big and healthy. You should try and feed it rats as early as you can because most Carpets and especially IJ's will be very hard to switch over once grown.

What kind of setup do you have your Carpet in and whats the temps, humidity, also what size rodents are you feeding?

i have a 15-20 gallon tank i think the temp at night goes to 75 and in the day up to 90. my carpet is about a foot and a half and im feeding him fuzzies. im not sure what the humidity is i dont have a hydrometer. he has a hiding rock and a tree to climb in ill try to post a pic soon.

Sounds like a nice setup you got there. I would up him from fuzzies to adult mice simply because Carpets can and will eat food items 3x their girth. I think all Carpets should be started on large hoppers or adult mice if not rat pinks.

Other than that it sounds like you got a great snake and i'd love to see pics if you can get them up.

Yikes! Not doing research beforehand is a NO NO!

Oh well I'm happy your intersted in learning though.

Your IJ (assumed to be) is a great choice! They are pretty snakes, who stay a nice 4-5ft in length.

I would feed and APPROPRIATELY sized mouse/rat once every 7-10 days.

Your setup sounds fine, I would go get a hyrgometer to find the humidity since Carpets need a good 60-80%.

Thanks,

B.U.

It could be, when you say "under a centimeter" do you mean wide? or deep?...and where was it bitten?

It would seem to me that for a small snake such a wound is actually quite large.

You will have to watch for signs of infection...maybe the vet will be needed?

Does the animal not eat F/T rodents?, if not you will most certainly want to get it onto defrost as soon as possible.

Generally speaking feeding live food to snakes is not considered the best thing, for many reasons...one of which is the possibility of injury to your snake.

Dont feed live. Its as simple as that. If you live in the states check out rodentpro.com for Frozen Mice/Rats, which is also a lot cheaper than buying live. If you live in Canada ask someone on here and im sure they can supply you with a link.
