Snow leopard geckos

This might seem like a stupid question, but what's the genetic history of snow leopard geckos? what morphs are they the result of? Thanks

My understanding is that the morph originated from some wild caught specimens. The trait is supposedly co-dominant so if you breed a snow to a normal, you will get 50% snows.
