Hello all,
This is my first post so if it's in the wrong forum I apologize in advance.
I just have one quick question.
Today, at my lake I almost stepped on the biggest cottonmouth I have EVER seen.
I have always heard that snakes cannot bite through those black rubber boots, the industrial kind. Is this true?
Snakes have never been a problem before around here but with 4 kids riding the go-cart and 4 wheeler across the dam where I saw this snake I was just curious.
Thanks,
Grill

cottonmouths have been studied for aggression recently. Though they can and will strike, they have low toxicity and the man doing the study determined that they "usually" need to be well provoked. As for the boots, 1/2 inch fangs should go through easily, the rattlergaurds I sometimes wear are plastic/fiberglass.

Thanks for the reply.
I know I'm probably over reacting but that snake was huge. I'm normally not too concerned about snakes, but this one got my attention!
Thanks again.
