View Full Version : jungle/diamonds ???
i'm looking for a nice display snake. this snake will be setup in the living room. i'm curious about jungles/diamonds. do the jungles keep the yellow in adulthood? do they tolerate handling well? are they active? do the diamonds have any behavorial differences than other carpets? would a jungle or diamond be a good choice for a display? i keep chondros and balls and none of mine i think would do well being on display in the living room.
thanks
vaughn
I have a jungle and his color is awesome, hes 5 yrs old and he lets me handle him ,never bit me while i had him out only bit me twice during feeding. he is very vocal when i have him out but hes all talk, lol and hes active in his cage too.

Well for us we have an display cabniet in our living room, but there is a male amazon in his cage. What makes the cage look great is all of the live plants, b/c he usally is in his hide or is wrapped around a branch.
We have our carpets in a display cabniet too, and they seem to rather wrap around a branch rather than sit in a hide.
Baby jungle carpets get brighter yellow on them with age, so yes they will keep there adult colours.
Susan:
You said that your carpet is very vocal, what noise does he make?
he hisses , sounds like your in a wind tunnel ive never come across this with my other snakes or lizards, usually they do that when there threatened but this one he "talks" when hes sitting on me , i know he doesnt feel threatened because hes relaxed sitting around me (hes 6 ft) but its funny because he is loud!!!! when i first got him it made me nervous but then i realized hes just vocal my husband even holds him and pets him and he was afraid of reps
ps
ive got great shots of him and im trying to post them for last 2 days but its not working
Oh okay, I was just curious....lol
