is it okay to put a sheet in the cage for the boa to hang out on for extra warmth. Its getting cold here in NY now and i want to make sure my boa is warm enough. anybody ever do any creative things for heat in the winter months because my funds are quite limited

well, place over the heater the sheet will help trap warmth. A sheet/piece of styrofoam (check flamability) will help reduce bottom heat loss. Water dish over the heat (but not blocking access to it) will raise humidity which holds heat better than dry air. A user of those low intensity string lights said the produced some heat. And my tactic, using a human style heat pad, $15 USD for a kingsize (24X12 inches)
Snakes cannot utilize blankets to keep warm like we can. We produce body heat which in turn is insulated by the blanket, which keeps us warm. What is your setup like? With more info I'm sure we can all give many suggestions how to keep the heat up during the colder months :)
