Thanks Hippy! I might look a little bit shady to some people, but i am very kind and generous... I mean 25$ a month is peanuts to me and it means the world to my son. For christmas i think i am going to send him a soccer ball as he enjoys Soccer! :) lol 5$ walmart ball to his is like a ball of gold! Im sure he will enjoy it. Everyone deserves a chance... and these children are not given the opportunity, so you have to make opportunities for them. I plan on keeping a good relationship with him.

very cool both of you! it is nice to see ppl like you guys!
It's amazing for me to see people caring so much about someone who desperately needs some help so far away. If more people would do this, the world would be such a better place and especially the innocent children that suffer most would all get helped and live healthier and happier lives.
You are such wonderful people and deserve a pat on the back for doing what so many don't bother to.
I would be interested to know which organisations you go through to offer this wonderful help.
great job, both of you. when i was younger my family had a child for almost ten years. its a great feeling helping someone you may never actually know. i als would like to know who you are dealing with to help these children

A soccer ball would be an AMAZING gift for him man!!! I mean, a $5 soccer ball would give that dude so much pleasure we probably can't even fathom it! Crazy how perspective works eh?!!
Good on you ********, that's awesome.
:D
Hola Jose! It's nice to meet you!
What a wonderful thing to do. I have a friend who moved to Nicaragua with her fiance in the Medecins sans Frontieres program and there are so many people in need there.
Mickey adopted 2 boys, but unfortunately the boys did not get along with each other and one chose to return to the orphanage. Carlos will be hers forever and I have the utmost respect for people like her who can give so freely of themselves.
Jeff, it's a waycool thing you are doing.

Corr, shes veery cute! :) looks like your donations are doing good, she looks like she is enjoying school! :)
Pixie: You have to watch where you go for sponsorship.. some of them the only people who are being helped are the greedy buggers who own the companies getting themself rich. lol We go through the Christian Childrens Fund of Canada. Last year alone 78% of the money that was donated went to the children. 10% to the administration and 12% to fundraising. So i would recommend going through them.

To anyone who is interested just remember its a big commitment and you will be donating for at least 10 years to your child so make sure you are willing to make that small sacrifice for the next 10 - 15 years :)
CCF is a great organization, however, we are fortunate enough to have the money wired directly to the family via Western Union.
Phiona lives in Kampala, Uganda and is doing very well. She doesn't actually do very well in school but she likes being there and is learning. Too many kids in Africa don't know how to read and write... school is a luxury.
For anyone who would like to help out an unfortunate child, but can't commit to long term donations, I recommend Operation Christmas Child. Just fill a shoebox with stuff that would be needed for a child of an age group and gender of your choice. Toys, toothpaste, pencils and paper, etc.. Just slip 5 bucks in the top of the box for shipping. :)
Anything else you need to know is here... http://www.samaritanspurse.org/intl.asp?section=Operation+Christmas+Child&country=Canada
Thanks Jeff and Corr for the information to good organisations, I am definitely going to look into it soon. It's about time I give back a little too and this looks to me to be one of the best ways of doing it. I know it would be a longterm commitment and I am ready to sign up!
AWWW!!! You 2 are soo nice :'( :)
wow you guys are to cool
