Hi all!

I'm living in an apartment building now, and am wondering what you guys do with your animals when there's a fire alarm in your building?

I've got 5 lizards and 5 snakes! Do I pillow-case them all and drag them downstairs with me like other people take their cats? If I put them in individual cloth bags, can I stick all the bags into one sweater-bin to take downstairs?

By the way, my landlords do know that I have the animals, and that's not been any kind of a problem. :D They just want everyone to be locked up when they come in to do work! ;)

Thanks for your help...

If you're going to bag them up, keep a cooler or insulated box near by to put them in. But then again, maybe it doesn't get quite as cold in Ottawa as it does in Winnipeg. :D

LOL, I'm about as heat-loving as my uros, so to me, Ottawa gets PLENTY cold!!! :D The cooler is a great idea!

Do you see any issues with the animals being put together though? Is my kingsnake likely to try to eat the garter thru the bag or anything???

Thanks!

In the same bag (which I don't think you meant), yes there's a problem. :D In different bags (which I'm sure you did mean), it's not a problem. :)

Do you get alarms often at your building?

LOL, Yes, I meant seperate bags. :)

I surely hope there won't be many alarms! Bagging up 10 animals is not something I want to do too often! Good thing I'm only on the 4th floor too.... otherwise it'll take me 4 hours to get out of there! LOL :D

I have given this some thought over the years, wondering how I'd deal with it a sudden evacuation. I could drive myself crazy thinking about it but when it comes down to it, I'll save all my animals that I have time to save and hope it never comes to that
