Just looking for opinions. I have found a store locally that sells non-toxic melamine paint. Is there any benefit to using epoxy over a non-toxic melamine paint? Hoping people will share their experiences. It would be used in a Beardie enclosure I have built, so it would be a fairly dry environment.
Thanks!

from what I have been told the melamine paint isn't a paint that will totally seal. The epoxy is a better bet, and non-toxic epoxy paint is the best bet.

Epoxy is definitely better. Melamine paint will seal, but only if you use a good primer and 2-3 coats. I experimented with melamine paint on particle board in my shop, and I have to say I was impressed with how well it sealed after the third coat. Still though, epoxy is a diamond-hard resin, but if you're not housing a humidity-loving species, it really isn't necessary. Beardies like it super dry, so I'd just use a nice outdoor deck stain on it.
