"She" really looks good! The fire pattern on the sibiling is beginning to turn quite orange and I was wondering the other day how that one was coming along. Lookin a little tubby as well! :D
Good luck with "her"!

What kind of morph is that? I've got 2 that look almost identicly to that and the guy I got them from told me harlequin but I've heard other wise as well. I plan on getting the rhacodactylus book this week as I'm looking to be breeding with in the year and would like to know more about morphs which is the one thing about the crested I really don't know much about.

It has a fire pattern with harlequin sides so it must be a harlequin fire! Nice gecko looks like a female to me.

How the heck is it possible to notice the sex? Its young, and you cant even see the vent!?

Well I dont know how young it is but if its an adults it visibly a female if you've got a male crested you can notice the buldge from any angle. Well with my male you can or maybe he's just hung lol

and thanks litte dragon for the info, I thought thats what they were as well, and that is identicle to my female although my female doesnt have a tail, but male is a bit more high yellow than orange but at night he turns a nice orange sometimes a real bright yellow though

liitle dragon is right it is a harlequin/fire, and boids unlimited is right it is to young to sex. And beaners I would be careful if i were you because somtimes it can be a little tricky to sex a tailess crested. I dont know why but I cannot access the gallery right now, I have a harlequin/fire that is sulpher colored and sulpher is a pretty rare color in cresties so i wanted to post itbut I will try later.

Yeah I know they can, it's definatly a female though it was a female before it lost its tail lol, it lost its tail at 9 months I found out today its exact hatch date was September 4th 2003 as he had to get back to me on that. She's not going to be breeding anytime soon though. Also this same male/female pair were together when I bought the male, I just didn't buy the female untill 2 months later when I decided I wanted to begin breeding them, and I couldn't afford to drop 250-300 on a female that I could get minus the tail for a huge fraction of the cost. Unfortunatly it wasnt properly cared for it's looking like which is odd because my male is extremely healthy and from the same guy, but I'm working on her and she should recover since she's being properly cared for now.

if they were housed together that could be a reason she isnt looking her best. Are you housing them together now?

No definatly not she is in her own cage I would never place any lizards together untill I quarantine them first, the guy who originally bred them had them together, but that was months ago

Never hurts to give out a recipe. Almost anything is better than baby food. If you check the nutition of any brand name fruit based food, you'll see there's not much in there, that's why you have to add insects. There's some really good concoctions being used which are nutritious and the Rhacs all love them.

Yeah I always wondered myself why baby food was used, when looking at the nutritional value I was shocked to see its as low as it is.

ok, Here is the recipe that I use and It works great and the animals love it.........
4 cups peaches/mangos/apricots can be mixed to equal 4 cups
4 very ripe (black) bananas
3 jars pureed chicken or turkey baby food
1 jar carrots (heinz beginner baby food)
1 jar sweet potato (heinz beginner baby food)
1/4 cups solid honey (melt in microwave until liquid)
3 tbsp liquid calcium
1 tbsp liquid bird vitamines (I use Hartz brand)
I personally just throw all of the ingredients into my food processor and blend It until its about the same texture as store bought baby food. This recipe makes about 2 litres of the mixture so If you are olny feeding a few geckos cut the recipe in half. I freeze it in small tupperware bowls and just scrape out what I need when I need it.
