View Full Version : Halo 2...what we know!
I saw the GTA post down there, so I figured I better start a halo post :D. Here's what I know so far.
1.) The setting is Earth, the covenant have uncovered the coordinates to Earth and have made a jump from their base The Unyielding Hierophant.
2.)Assault Rifles, have been upgraded to Battle Rifles, these have scopes and fire in bursts.
3.) There are certain zero g environments.
4.) I've heard rumors the flood return ? confirmation?
5.) Rocket Launchers are heat seeking.
6.) You may choose Covenant elites in multiplayer mode.
7.) There are various new multiplayer levels.
8.) New covenant weapons as well, a sniper, a carbine (like an assualt rifle?) and a fuel rod gun (rocket launcher like thingee)
9.) cluster grenades ? confirm ?
10.) You may borrow weapons from marines in exchange for weapons your holding.
11.) There are new types of warthogs.
12.) Banshees in Multiplayer.
13.) ONLINE PLAY!!!!!
14.) Is that it...um.....oh yeah, new covenant, brutes and prophets.
15.)I want to play so bad!!!!! Feel free to add if you know anything I missed. Be sure to give me your online names so I can play some of you guys.

Nov. 9th, a day after my birth day : P I can't wait for this game, I really like what they have done with the weapons. I didn't really like the mutiplay in the old one, but maybe this one is better.
edit: in halo 2 you can hold two guns i think but theres a catch to it
oh yeah, forgot to mention that, thats like one of the best things. Catch is you can't throw grenades, and you can't have 2 heavy weapons, like 2 shotguns or 2 snipers. I hear that they've focused a lot of improvement on the multiplayer. There is a game mode where the it is a red team v blue team, one team has to try and plant a bomb and detonate it in the others base. First to detonate wins, if the defending team wards off the attack, they win. Looks like a good game from what I've seen should be interesting.

Cool. That sounds almost as good as Quake 3 that was released 5 years ago for the PC.

the only good video game system is xbox..i sold all the other systems of trash to but a kenyan sand boa and a cornsnake...XBOX AND REPTILES RULE...screw evrything else
The graphics in Halo 2 look cool for a console. My friend has already beat it. He said it was better then doom III for the gameplay but doom was far better for the graphics.

As for me, i'm still stuck into Starcraft, a game i've been playing since it came on the market, hehe! I would personnally REALLY want to play Counter Strike's Natural Selection... As for Halo 2, seems pretty nice too but never as good as Natural Selection...

I was once into games HUGE!
I found it more rewarding working with reptiles, than spending hours upon hours playing a video game.
Just my opinion.
PS - Xbox is gay, its MASSIVE.

Your friends with the pirated copies of Halo2 are assholes.
Especially the one who sold it.
He might as well have stolen money right from Bungie's staff.
Not only that, Halo2 would have already been out if people hadn't tried to pirate pieces of it, bungie has to change things so other companies don't steal their ideas, not to mention the time spent putting up security precautions

yea I don't like when people sell or buy bootleged stuff. One question, how do they get a bootleg started anyways? Well yea, my friend bought his at New York City, half of the stuff there is fake, lol

Nah, the Halo 2 release date was already pretty much fixed.
And it wasn't like the source code was stolen. That would have been a serious problem. But in this case it was a compiled build. Considerably less security issues, though it gives the ISO crackers a leadtime on preparing for the English language release.
In the case of the Half Life 2 leak, it was source code and therefore subject to examination and easy exploitation. So they had no choice but to delay.
The version of Halo 2 out there now is thought to have been stolen from the pre-pressing scraps at a manufacturing plant. A lot of pre-retail leaks happen that way.
Plus there's the rumors of certain video card companies leaking games, but I won't name any names :)
If someone wants to steal themselves a copy of Halo, or any of the games we make here, then that sucks, but oh well. If they then brag about having it, they should be very careful who they brag in front of. Not all game dev's are 98 lbs pimple farms :)
huh, thats weird, the guy at gamestop told me the game was supposed to come out in april, but it was delayed b/c somone got something important from the game
What are you doing Thursday night at 11pm, ET/PT? WRONG! Cancel whatever that crap was, because you're now watching Spike TV's Ultimate Gamer Halo 2 special!!!!!!!!! quoted from the bungie site. Anyway, there showing some never before seen stuff, and somebody wins a trip to bungie and gets to play before everyone else. Watch it, or die!
oh wait, that was last thursday lol!
