I know when I took the picture this was copulation (I looked close enough to see), but at least they both seem interested in doing THE dance ;)

Man I really hope to produce baby pastels this year.. this is soooo exciting.... the female is a monster eater.. she weights about 2700g and is still eating whenever I offer food (trying not to feed to hard because I started cooling, etc)...
Best of luck to everyone for the 2004 - 2005 season!!
Bristen.
Sweet man!! Good Luck

ever wonder if they stay in the position too long that they will get stuck that way? :) kinda like making a goofy face :P

When you say at least they both seem interested in doing the dance it makes it sound like it wasn't copulation but your wrote that was copulation. In the pic it looks like I can see the males cloaca. Are they or aren't they copulating?
I sure hope they are though. If they aren't they soon will be!
Congrats,
Trevor

Trevor, what I meant to say was << I know when I took the picture this was not copulation (I looked close enough to see) [...] >>... I however omitted the "not" for some reason and this probably led to much confusion oups! Since I had just put them together the night before, when I lifted the hide box in the morning, I didn't expect to see them in action so I didn't have the camera.. so I ran to the next room to get the camera and perhaps they "unlocked", I don't know.. but the cloacal areas of both snakes were not ligned up and it was definitely not copulation at the time of the picture... nothing says there wasn't in the night thought, they looked rather tired lol ;)
Anyways, all I was excited about was that the male was not repulsed at the female and they both seemed to be "comfy" as honduranfreek posted heh...
Thanks for all the kind words everybody!
ps: thanks again Michael, I love that big guy!!

Yeah I know Jeff... however, I think it's the picture that does that.. here are two pictures I had posted of here a long time ago.. you'll see that she's really not a Joliff.. besides, normally people don't sell monster eater females like this one for $175 if they are a Joliff axanthic lol! Actually I have no idea why they sold such a perfect animal for that price, but hey I'm not complaining!!!
