Does anyone own these beauties?

If you have them how big is it and any pics?

Thanks,

B.U.

go look at bahreptiles pictures of his retic bite. He said it was just a little nip and he needed surgery. Why would you want a 20 foot snake? let alone two/?

Because thats what I'm interested in

And if you knew anything, on average Retics get about 16'

So its quite unlikely that they will get 20ft

Average male maybe 16' but females can easily attain sizes in excess of 20'. just my opinion and I do know a bit! LOL!

i believe they will get larger than 30'

second largest snake in the world if they only got 16' that would mean the rock python is bigger and that is not true

Dave......there are VERY few 20' Retics out there...MALES average 10'-14' females usually 16'-18'

Michael.....Retics are the largest snake in the world by length. Anaconda is the largest by weight. But the Retic is classified is the biggest.

Please know what your talking about when you post.....otherwise nOObs will come and read false information.

Geeze :/

Average over 30ft!!! LOL YEAH RIGHT!! Only Sulawesis/Makas get that large and that's still a big rarity! No way a common Thai or Main Lander would get that large.
As for average size, males get in at around 10-14ft as said, with some getting as large as 21ft(look at Baldogo's Supers/Tigers!) and females averaging 16-20ft+ Most females get at 18ft+ and will most likely hit 20ft, not really an average of 16ft.
With that said I currently have a beautiful Tame 10ft Male Thai Yellowhead! He is awesome, just awesome! I would fully recomend a pair of yellowheads, especially from Bob Clark! Now keep in mind one thing, the Thai Yellowheads(which Bob's yellowhead stock originates from) get larger than regular mainland types. You often here Thai Giants and other names for the Thais infering they get to a good large size. Now my Male easily hit 8ft as a yearling and that was with light feeding. Some people feed their retics 5x as much as I fed mine. After the first year, I slowed him down to one meal every 3weeks as he is a male of good body weight and he is doing great now, still growing and maintaining a nice thick girth.
I've included an old pic of Ricky when he was around 8ft(pic taken in Feb I believe right when he became a yearing). He is now longer and girthier than before. His colors keep getting better and his head keeps getting more intense!

Dude....my best friend bought a male yellow head from Bob Clark just over a hear ago, he is already between 7 & 8ft and eating 3 or 4 large rats per feeding. The thing w/ retics is, you really can't tell they are that long until your holding them. This guy is still on the slender side, like most retics are until they reach adulthood, then they start filling out. Anyway, you won't be disappointed, my friends retic is really healthy and really clean. Bob has some good stuff.

Boidsunlimited, You can't just assume that you are buying two snakes that are going to fit into the "average" category. Always plan on the large side. A female Retic can grow to 20ft easily. I would not consider that out of the norm no matter what anyone says. And i wouldn't write off a male at 14ft either because they can go larger than that also. And they don't have the best temperment either.

Yellowheads have a better, calmer temperament than the Silvers. They also don't get nearly as large. ON AVERAGE Yellowhead females reach about 18'.

Sorry about the blurry pic... she's calm, but she doesn't sit still, LOL

Wow! No offense, but that was a false statement. First off, yellowheads do not neccesarily have better temperments than common retics. Temperment is a variable and you'll actually find some yellowheads to be more aggressive. Another thing to consider is that yellowheads can be a variable and come out of a normal retic clutch, so temperment is not a differing factor. And finally about the size! lol, did you pull that statement out of your @$$!? I mean first off, unless the yellowhead is a bali or Ambon, it will most likely get huge. Most yellowhead locales such as the sulawesis and Thais get gigantic! 18ft!! yeah right!

Um...BMX. THat was totally rude and un-called for.

Please dont reply in my thread anymore.

Not only is LdyDrgn probably right, but I have seen you on KS and you have a tendency to flip out and get aggresive like you just did.

Awesome Yellowhead LdyDrgn!

Oy here we go again. Don i thought you changed your ways, and said your no longer considering the retics, And no you didnt say that on this board. I must get a tingling in my head to come here. Havent been here in a while and gee the first post I see is this one. Wish id get these senses about playing the lotto.

Female retics will easily get over 20' The ones that dont get to be that size usually die from poor care or abandonment.

I'm not implying this about Ldydrgn. I know her and Morti take excellent care of their herps and I know they have given getting a retic allot of thought. Unlike some 16-17 yr olds that had to get rid of their snake already due to an abrupt move out of state

For the record Retics are the Longest snake species on record at a tad over 33'
