Eggs?

Ok so I found a couple of sunken eggs in my one leo enclosure this morning. I'm pretty sure they were fertilized since they have redish circles in them. my question is if they were fertile how likely is it that she will lay more eggs and if so how soon? Her tankmate is a male but I didn't think they were at breeding age yet... stupid I know. If you want I can take pictures of the eggs and post them later. If she is going to have more I want to get an incubator ready so I don't kill any more helpless babies.

PS how long does it take eggs to sink in? I'm trying to figure out when they were layed.

Around 3-4 weeks she might lay another clutch. Breeding will happen at too young of an age they "can" start breeding around 8 months but that doesn't mean they should. I would wait until the female is at least 18 months old, just to ensure her health. Females also retain sperm so she can lay multiple clutches with only one breeding session.

Where were the eggs laid, where they out in the open or in a moist hide. When they start to loose their moisture is when they normally start to sink in (unless they are getting ready to hatch).

And they were out in the open when I found them. I'm not sure how old they are but this is the first set of eggs I have seen. I have had them since december and they were babies then so I guess they are about a year old now.

Odds are that you will have some more eggs. The eggs do desicate very quickly so adding a moist laying box/hide is a good idea. Separating the two until she is older would be a good idea too to avoid any further breeding attempts although as drewlove pointed out they retain sperm so more eggs are pretty much a certainy.

I have a friend who had the same thing happen, her female would lay eggs in the water dish so that gives you and idea of how a female will seek out a moist area to lay her eggs (even if it is standing water) she then would kick sand into the dish ti bury them.
. I have been trying to straighten out her husbandry but she is stubborn and listens to store employees and others that obviously give bad advice. All her eggs have died so far so doing what she is doing isn't working very well. Hopefully she will listen to me from now on.
