I cant think of the name of the show.. Snake Hunter maybe? Its the one with the crazy guy who grabs all the venemous snakes, he has the really shaggy blonde hair. Its not stever irwin, or anyone big like that...
Anyways, I was really curious to know if anyone had seen above described mystery show, (if you now the name of if please lord post it!!), and what your thoughts on this guy were.
Its a bit nuts how he grabs some of those venemous species, I gotta tell ya. But its definitely cool to watch....
Was it "7 Deadly Strikes"?
Here is a thread where Jordan posted a pic of the guy handling a King Cobra
Link to Jordans thread (http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54564)
I just read Jordans thread and I guess the special was "7 Deadly Strikes" and the show is "Snake Master".

Yea but he can find east african gaboons on the west coast.... that takes skill!!! lol
That would be Austin Stevens. He has a show on Animal Planet every tuesdays at 8:00 est called Snake Master. I havent missed a episode and so far he has been to Borneo, Australia, Florida everglades, and last night he went to costa rica in search of pit vipers.
I respect this guy more than any other herpetologists on Animal Planet or Discovery mainly because he has been around for a while and he knows what he is talking about. I did some research on him and found he grew up in south Africa and everyone called him the snake boy because anytime they found a snake he would come take it away and so on...
He has done alot of different shows in the past including some national geographics, Discovery, and now Animal Planet which is actually owned by Discovery. Anyways, This mans show is great to watch and I look forward to it every Tuesday.

Its definitely cool to watch, but he does take some pretty extreme risks on his show. Makes it look to easy. Even jackass comes with a warning at the beginning, does this show, I havent noticed?

I dont think he needs a warning, I mean who just goes out and chases venomous snakes without knowing there is a risk. So far, I think he is alot better than Irwin/Corwin etc. and I enjoy watching his show. I hope he does a show on finding giant boa constrictors soon. Later.

no no no not a warning for HIM, a disclaimer at the beginning of the show saying don't try this at home!

yah.. you would think you wouldn't need to warm people about that kinda of stuff... but after jackass took off they had tons of different law suits and incidences where views had mimiced their stunts. There were kids in my town (right beside my house actually) that watched the show then decided that they should get into a shopping cart and push themselves off a steep traffic infested hill.
so ... you would think people wouldn't need to be told things like that but then again there's no shortage when it comes to nomanies for the darwin awards either.

The Snake Master isn't too bad, alittle dramatic at times like in the episode when he was "wrestling" with an anaconda in the water. Of course with the camera work they made it look like this big battle.....
I find its just nice to see these shows dedicated to herps (jeff corwin experience, snake master, croc hunter) where years ago you couldn't see much of anything herp related on the tube....
