hey all, i have a question..i have to minimize my electrical use of the reptiles now because hydro is gone up and is going up AGAIN and my parents said that i might have to get rid of the reptiles if i cant minimize the electricity. so here is my question.

Lana has his own aquarium so i am not worried.

Roxy lives in a 2 foot long, 1.5 deep, 6" tall rubbermaid with a screen lid.

Homer lives in the same thing but has holes on the sides, ALOT of wholes might i add.

The 2 rubbermaids are now stacked. Before they had separate lights but now i am trying to minimize things and was wondering how i can provide heat for both of them while they are stacked, with ONE heat source...can someone email me ideas?

What you need is heat tape. You cannot get it in Canada you need to order from the Sates. The biggest problem is you only need a small piece. With the exchance rates and shipping it would not do you very well. Check with any local breeders and see if you can buy a piece the size you need. The 4 in. is only 6 or 8 watts per ft. Much better than the lights.
Good Luck

I agree with Bryan, heat tape, or an undertank heater is your best bet. They are both low wattage forms of heating (and IMO the best for heating those particular species). Lights use alot more electricity............
