Well, we figured since he wasn't planning on coming off any time soon that we might as well get a pic. We have learned from experience now that womas do not like to let go....LOL!

He is a baby Woma python. They are a rare australian species. We have wanted them for years. Saw a pic in a book and fell in love.

It is a lot like getting bit by a corn snake of the same size but generally the corn snake will let go.....LOL
how long did he hang on?
did you have to put your hand under water?

He hung on for about 15 minutes. He eventually gave up on his own. It figures, we were on our way to bed and just making one last check when, wham!

Maybe he misses the days when he used to eat pinky's....lol
Great pic and amazing snake!:)
well I have to say that picture brought a smile to our faces...its funny when they are still small and harmless. It happens to the best of us always when we are least expecting it. Very nice of you to share and I am glad he decided to let go....eventually. LOL

wow! great colour on the little woma! a 15min bite? sheesh thats a pretty long time :) nice picture though
I haven't had the reason to try this (my only bite the snake let go right away) but I've been told that if you put a swab of rubbing alcohol to the snakes nose it will release right away.

We didn't bother trying to get him off. He is such a small guy that we just let him let go in his own time. He was way more stressed than I was and it wasn't painful.....
